Important tip on flying....

Now I know this is not precious metal related but if it helps just one person, then it was worth writing.

A short while ago my partner and I missed a Ryanair flight, which cost us dearly and left us stranded at a foreign airport for over 24hrs.
The flight had been delayed and this was displayed on the airport departure boards. Within 15 minutes the departure board displayed.... "Gate now closed".
I went straight to Ryanair's information office to ask what was going on. The response was that the flight had left at the correct time (about an hour ago), but here's the important part....
I was asked if I took a photo of the departure display board. Of course, I had not.
I was then advised to always take a photo of flight delays displayed on departure boards as it will act as proof/evidence if a problem arises.
I for one have learned a very expensive lesson!
So there you have it.

By the way... after returning to the UK, I contacted Ryanair by way of phone. The representative confirmed that the flight left an hour later than the time the Ryanair airport representative told me it had!!!
So the moral of this story is... Departure boards are not always correct!

Definitely worth remembering as Ryanair has so far refused to send me a confirmation email of said delayed flight in order to make a claim!

Good luck with that. The airlines should all band together and just help stranded travelers with missed flights by letting you fly free (standby) if they have empty seats.

Now wouldn't that be nice.
