What a fantastic piece Jon. I'm not surprised you didn't want to send it back to the owner, but you did get to play with it. Lucky you. 
It's actually pushing it to call it a coin, more a miniature mechanical work of art. I wonder why the mintage was 249: it's a rather odd number.
PS Was it nerves that made you describe it as 5 oz 999 Dilver?
