Perth Mint Electric Sky. With something I have never seen
Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:59 am
The Perth Mint have shocked me... I have NEVER seen anything like it before.
I have reviewed A LOT of coins over the years... Thousands to be exact.
And this is the first time I have seen something like this done on a coin.
Yes I love it... but OMG it is awesome.
What do you think?

That is truly an amazing looking coin. One to add to the list for when I'm collecting and stacking again!

Mine arrived today. It got here at 12.50, so I'm afraid @SilverTrader isn't going to get any cashback from Royal Mail.
It is amazing, and the lighthouse's rays can be seen beautifully without taking the coin out of the capsule. This reassures butterfingers me no end.
On the question of whether it is the third in a series with the two Auroras, I take the point that the packaging is different (the COAs are too for that matter), but the coins are all issued by Tuvalu, and are so alike when looked at together that it's hard not to see them as a series. I'm going with that anyway (and this has nothing to do with me not daring to disagree with Martin ).
My totally non-evidence-based surmise is that somebody at the Perth Mint liked the Auroras so much that they decided to look for similar phenomena to put on coins, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the mint start to describe them as a series. I'm really keen to see if there's a follow up: there are some pretty spectacular forms of lightning.

Are you still very busy with work?
I have not heard from you in a while and assumed you must be snowed under so to speak.

The Auroras are different.
This to me is going with..... Along the lines of the Auroras.... we are keeping with nature and lights.. but..........

I wouldn't say that, Your tree of life you flashed up in one of your latest vids looks really good. I'm looking forward to seeing the results!
If your not happy with your results, the only way to improve is to keep going and experimenting so see what could improve your results.
