It's problematic. I started buying metals a few years ago, thought when I had a few tubes of Britannias that I had completed silver
There are so many mints and so many desirable items, the 1 kilo Kookaburras are lovely, there are 1 kilo Brits and 1 kilo Queen's Beasts! Usually I see the larger coins trading at a premium over the smaller coins

You have to buy with your head sometimes... and override your heart.
BUT that said if your into Kookaburras and want a kilo coin... go for it..
BUT be warned!!!! They don't hold their value as much as you might hope for.... so buy second hand from a reputable source near spot if possible. Yet I discard my own advice only because I love shiny new stuff and buy it from dealers DOH
Stick to a budget... but add in fractional gold bud. you wont regret it...

I agree with all this
I'm cheap so usually only buy silver on the secondary market! I've got 1 kilo kooks around the £800-825 range, above spot certainly but significantly cheaper than dealer premiums
I like a big variety of gold and silver. I've got a few ounces in fractional and several 1 ounces coins, along with a few sovereigns. I'm light on the platinum and palladium though, hard to find those cheap on the secondary market (VAT free)

I also prefer the 10oz silver beasts. It is a shame they are so popular as it has pushed the resale price rise so much, so hard to get hold of at a sensible price.
The largest coin I have is a 2007 french 50 euros.
It is not as beautiful as the Beasts, but it's rarity of less than 300 worldwide and shape of a rugby ball make it something special.
At 1Kg it makes the 10oz beasts feel pozitively light.
Mine was mounted in a custom made hardwood presentation case, with a false bottom.
When you lift out the false panel, it reveals a genuine 2007 used match ball (deflated) with certification.
IT IS LISTED HERE ON NUMISTA
