Secret Santa 2024

My, how time flies! Following on from my advance notice a couple of weeks ago, and hoping to enjoy the success of past years, the Forum is again running a Secret Santa. My advance notice post had 71 views and 4 likes, so I'm hoping for a lot of participation. Once again I failed to dodge Jon when he was looking for a volunteer – he says it’s now part of my job description. There are rules (naturally), and we are following the procedure we began last year. Please make sure you follow this year’s version. Unless specified, all time limits expire at midnight London time, and all participants must be happy to disclose their names and addresses. So, off we go ho ho.  

1. The Secret Santa is open to all members irrespective of length of membership or number of posts. All members who would like to take part must reply to this post in the thread below by 24th November, when I will post the final list of participants. This will give you all plenty of time to decide whether you want to take part, and to do your shopping/digging behind the sofa cushions. If you want to enter immediately, that’s fine: no need to wait until 24th November

2. After posting, and before 30th November, entrants must PM me with their name and address. This is the same as last year. I will, of course, once more keep a record of all details for blackmail purposes next year. Again, you can do this as early as you like: no need to wait until he end of November. If you don't send this information, you won't be entered.  

3. At some time on 1st December I will do the draw and match up Santas with victims recipients. I will then send all Santas the name and address of their recipient. Obviously, this information must go no further: blackmail is a TCM prerogative.

4. Gifts should be one ounce of fine silver. We have allowed for other gifts in the past, but it’s never taken off, so now we’re sticking to what we do best. This is meant to be fun, so don’t go mad and please give something you’d be happy to receive and that you believe your recipient would be happy to receive.

5. Gifts to be posted in time to be received before Christmas. Santas are responsible for postage. I strongly suggest you use tracked postage as this is a busy time of year and tracking can be a huge benefit.

6. Following the distribution of gifts, after Christmas, all participants are to post on the Forum saying what they got, but the name of their Santa remains secret. A photo would be nice but if, like me, you can’t do that, then a description will be fine.

7. If there are any problems or questions, please PM me.

If you don't want to post, you can enter by sending me a PM. I'll keep a list.

As always it is much better to delegate responsibility than endure the punishment.

Actually @Admin , you're second. I got a PM from A N Other member, hence my addendum.
I might add that in this weather 'baring' is about the last thing I'm doing - unless it's for an awful lot more money that any of you lot would want to stump up. 'Barring', now, would be a different matter.

Just a quick reminder to all the members who haven't yet entered the Secret Santa: you have two weeks to enter (24th November) and then another week (30th November) to PM me with your name and address. You can PM me early if you want.
The draw will be on 1st December.

The time for entries has expired, and the cream of the membership has entered. I have entries from:

Thank you to my Secret Santa who gave me this lovely gift. 2023 issue: limited to 777 pieces, and displayed in a frame. Once again, I am having to use stock photos, but the real coin is gorgeous.
