Aquarium NANO External Canister Filter
Tue Nov 12, 2024 12:37 am
Hello All
Well I have nothing to do today only a flat tire on my Subaru so here is a helpful thing for those of you who are into aquariums.
Finding parts for this NANNO external filter hoses connections to hook on to the fish tank
here in Florida no were to be found in any pet shop . So the only thing to do
is go to Home Depot and see what you can find in the plumping section So I put my brain
to work and came up with this home made fix with the help of Home Depot .
You buy three feet of half inch PVC pipe and 1/2" elbows. Six feet of 3/8 hose. Now the trick
is how to bend the PVC. Here is what I did I took a 20 inch long PVC pipe and put a cap on one end filled the
pipe with sand caped that end Got out my heat gun and was able bend the PVC. Here
a photo. If you are into aquariums you will know what this is all about.
For those who don't know the top pipe sprays the water from the canister into the tank, the bottom pipe
picks up the water from the tank and sends it to the canister.

Hello @AVG , good to see you back here. I hope you and yours are well.
This aquarium thing, very interesting but it looks awfully complicated to me - plants are a lot easier

ahhhh plumbing... lol
I had 2 plumbers recently. One on Sunday and one on Monday. And a electrician on Monday.
But as this is for your fish tank... I am eager to see what happens and the end results.
Is this salt or fresh water?

Fresh water system. Salt water is for people who have money . I did salt back in 1975 I built tanks for salt and the fish were at the right price back then.
