Not Quite Whiteout Empty Not Quite Whiteout

Well, the snow got to my side of the Pennines overnight, and everything looks wonderful. Going out may be a different matter though! Still, the freezer and store cupboard are stocked.
Yes, I am aware that our little bit of a freeze is a joke to many people on the Forum and, to be honest, it's nothing compared to winters I remember as a child, but it is very easy to get used to the warmer weather.
It is starting to warm up a bit now, and the covering on the greenhouse roof is starting to slip: I just hope it doesn't take the guttering with it.

And here I am enjoying a nice holiday with my family in the tropics.

Having said that, my wife and munchkins love snow (she worked as an au pair in the Austrian alps at one point) and would be more than happy to have some nice, deep snow to play with the munchkins in.

Hmm @Silverlocks , I think distance may be lending enchantment to the view. An hour or so in the wet cold would likely make her happy for sunshine and sand.

I was going to ask how everyone is doing this weekend.

But then realised this thread. And I can say that it only snowed first thing this morning whilst my son was on his paper route.

But by the time I woke up, it was clear.

On another note, my eldest son found out that the restaurant/ pub he works for is now shut down.

So he is out of a job! after working every day over the festive holidays. Rats a Freeken ahhhhh.

@Admin , I've liked your post, but I don't like the news about Number 1 Son. I hope he got paid for the work over the holidays, and if he knows where to get hold of his manager perhaps he could get a reference to use for other jobs.

I used number one only as the meaning first born.

He has been paid for the holidays... and he is still owed another pay check. But yeah it sucks.

I am very annoyed. He just signed up for a gym membership as well. but has plenty of funds for that and more. But that is only because he has saved and has not spent tonnes of money on stupid things.

But I am hoping he finds a new job soon.
