This is the start of a community of like minded people, who will make this forum enjoyable, sociable, and provide a much needed platform for intercourse on all aspects of precious metals.
Each of us may have a small (or large) knowledge of different aspects of this vast subject, and we can all increase our knowledge by interacting as a group, on anything relevant to the subject.

Will somebody please tell me why I am constantly receiving this notification...?

I don't know, and it must be very annoying. It's nothing I have done, and maybe Admin knows.

I don't understand how you are  "constantly receiving this notification", as I only posted it once, about an hour ago?
My apologies if you have received this more than once, and I will get in touch with an administrator to check if I've done something wrong.

To answer your question regarding notifications, you will have to change you notification settings in Chrome, you will need to untick notifications from this application.

I do not wish to have no notifications at all...!
It is only the one specific notification that is reoccurring.
(I'm on Android, not ChromeOS at the moment)

I am unfamiliar with android settings sorry, but there will be a way to block these notifications, I will see if I can find anything that will sort this problem out, and thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I've had a look at my profile, and as I suspected the problem can be solved fairly readily. If you go on to your profile, there's a heading marked 'Notifications' and it's possible to choose when, or indeed whether, you are notified of an event. One such event is the logging on of a friend to the Forum. Notifications can be either by email or button on the taskbar, or both, and you just turn off the ones you don't want. I think that when you joined (and it's great that you did) you left the 'factory setting' as it were. This setting has email and taskbar notifications for a number of events, and you can pick and choose. I have limited notifications to messages, so I don't get to know anything else until I log on and dig.

I found Notifications, however even though the heading was accessed through 'Settings', this only displays my 'Notifications' rather than settings for notifications... (Darn...)

This is the same by the Android App & the Web interface via Chrome browser whilst using Android 11.

I don't have a 'settings' button, I just went to my profile and clicked on 'notifications' (on my screen it's between 'Friends and Foes' and 'Topics being watched' and it went straight to 'options' and a list of notification types. I'm using a laptop and accessing the Forum site through Opera, but I would have thought the layout of the site was the same for everybody.

I have circled in red the part of the menu I used.
The 'cog-wheel' symbol is the standard symbol for 'Settings', but anything in this encircled area takes one to the same place... least that's what I've found.

This is what I get, which looks nothing like yours. I think for now, and to save your sanity, I'll 'unfriend' you . Nothing personal, obviously, but it will give you the leisure to get a handle on modifying your settings without being pinged every time I log on - which happens frequently. We can always PM!

LINKS / IMAGES Removed by Admin

So, in the first screen shot you can see the headings within profile settings, one of which says Notifications.
When this Notifications heading in Profile Settings is selected the second screenshot is displayed/observed...
I'm confused, I think it may be a bug. 🪳

I am looking into this and will try to resolve it quickly.

I have defriended you, which should solve your immediate problem. Hopefully Admin can reach a more permanent solution.
In the meantime, your screenshot enclosed with your last post reveals your personal email address. You might not have wanted to do that, and I think Admin can delete it.

I have just ran a full check,

The Cats Mother has given a perfect description.

You need to click on notifications, Then you will get the options. I have checked on a number of devices. I will upload a screen shot to help you sort this out.

Notice you need to click on Notifications.

Then in Web mode if using a phone, or on the PC its normal,

You will get the notification types after doing so, You were so close but you did not click on " Notifications "

Maybe I am going insane guys, but you can see the screenshots I have provided. The system is not acting in this manner on my 'phone...
I am also holding it in portrait rather than landscape, running Android 11 either the website via Chrome browser or the App directly.
I click on the notifications heading/tab in profile/settings and it displays the list of notification not the settings for notifications...

The Chrome browser goes to...

Ok your not going crazy, I hope!

First, Go back to your Settings.

There was an option for Web view.

You were so close when you had your personal details displayed... you just needed to click on that notifications tab which was in your own screen shot.

then it will bring up the next screen that you see above.



So go in web mode,

Settings.

Notifications.

All steps that should be easy to follow.
