Something Old, Something New ... Empty Something Old, Something New ...

Some of you may recall the 2021 Tokelau coins featuring the Goddess Europa and the Bull and Bear.  @Admin  reviewed the Goddess Europa in November 2021 and the Bull and Bear in January 2022 and the videos are in the video section on the forum. Both coins were (and are) very nice, and I did buy them both.
Well a few weeks ago I noticed that the exact same designs had been issued on coins from Chad, dated 2023. Naturally I bought the pair. I'm wondering who will be next - Niue; Congo; Ghana; Rwanda? It could make for a very interesting 'set'. Certainly beats the endless maple leaves and libertads. Much nicer than quokkas too imvho.  Something Old, Something New ... 1f639  Something Old, Something New ... 1f639

TCM you will be in BIG trouble with Arcane on this post.
I bought 2x2023 5000 franc bull and bear coins from TChad earlier this year, they were made by Bulmint in Bulgaria, nice coins as you say. 500k were minted.

I am not saying anything to @ArcaneCollector regarding the Quokkas .. Oh no.. that is you boat you just sunk my dear.

I have not seen that other series to the best of my memory, which at the best of times is no better than a bowl of jello.

I know @Admin (and @denby ), I'm poking the bear - or sabre-toothed quokka - and living dangerously.

Jon, you did do videos on the Tokelau pair, honest. I checked up on the forum video section before I posted.

Blasphemy!! How dare @The Cat's Mother use the holy quokka’s name in vain. I need to consecrate this post with a quokka pic.

@The Cat's Mother,

This is the first time I've seen the exact same images on two coins issued by a dependent territory and a country.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I noticed that the denomination of 50 dollars on the Tokelau is equivalent to $30.51 USD.Shocked   And the Chad denomination of 5000 francs equals roughly $8.00 USD.

Also, that's a funny comment you made about which country will be next.Laughing

@The Cat's Mother has 3 penalty points on her Aussie animal licence, 6 if you count a previous comment about eating kookaburra’s. An awareness course is in order. This consists of 1 hour of watching YouTube videos of cute marsupials.

Well I have seen the same image on a coin before issued from a different country, on the front and the back. And the core was brass. Wink

@ArcaneCollector :
1. I have seen live quokkas on Rottnest Island, and I have a life-sized soft toy quokka. That gets me a lifetime exemption from awareness training.  Something Old, Something New ... 1f61d
2. That coin sounds interesting. Did you pay extra for it due to its rarity?
@Periodic Table:
I didn't do any conversion of the currencies, either into sterling or dollars, but the difference in values is quite striking. I'm really interested to see if there are any further releases in the "series".
