2023 Royal Mint Music Legends The Police
Mon Aug 28, 2023 12:20 pm
I'm excited to have just received this 2023 music legends "The Police" proof coin. Produced by The Royal Mint, I like the energetic design of Copeland, Sting and Summers rocking along over their three iconic Synchronicity stripes. I also like King Charles' effigy. To me, his profile is spot on.
Note: What appears as spotting are actually reflections coming off the mirror finish.

You're right TCM. I got the Rolling Stones coin for my brother. We always talk about rock music. Are you a rocker?

Not really, to be honest. I'm more into classical, but I do very much like Dr. Hook (I have all their CDs and even went to one of their concerts once), and I can cope with the Rolling Stones when I'm in the mood. I also adore Tom Lehrer's work (again, I have all his CDs), and Flanders and Swann.

"Every breath You Take" is inscribed on the smooth edge of the coin.

You're like my dad was. He enjoyed classical music since he was a kid. There were a few pop songs he liked but he couldn't stand rock music. What impressed my brother and I the most was his ability to point out certain movements of a rock song if he happened to walk by.
I know about Dr. Hook but am unfamiliar with Tom Lehrer and Flanders and Swann. I'll sample their music on YouTube.
