Camels are horrible smelly beasts with a mean streak. The handlers aren't much better either - unless I was really unlucky.
Looks to be a wonderful holiday though. Enjoy Luxor.

Super jealous! Egypt is on my bucket list now that the civil unrest seems to have quietened down.

I'm (probably) going to make you even more jealous now .....ArcaneCollector wrote:Super jealous! Egypt is on my bucket list now that the civil unrest seems to have quietened down.
We went to Egypt a few years ago, pre-plague, and the holiday included a round trip on Lake Nasser, from Aswan to Abu Simbel and back. We were the only ones doing the round trip, so we had our temple visit the day after all the others. Our guide wasn't allowed to guide us in the temples, so we agreed that he could give us the introduction in the a/c-ed lounge of the boat, not in the heat on site, and then go to the mosque. He advised us to go later in the morning as early doors it wold be a nightmare with all the coachloads arriving. It would be quieter later. We took his advice, and during the morning we noticed how things were quietening down and people drifting off. By the time we had done the outside, photos etc, and were ready to go into the temple, we noticed that were were the only people on site apart from the guards. Literally. We had Abu Simbel to ourselves! It was the most wonderful experience, and I don't think it will ever be repeated. Even our guide was amazed.

How could you even think that of me? I am deeply hurt, wounded and injured by that very suggestion. May Sekhmet send the sacred crocodiles to devour you. (The beasts on @AVG's photos will make a very good substitute if the crocodiles don't fancy you). Failing which, import of dangerous wild animals regulations being what they are, may you not be able to get 'Baby Shark' out of your head for the rest of the year.

I like the curse which I’m sure came from Terry Pratchett. May your armpits be infested with the fleas of a 1000 camels.
