Second Valentine for Hamish

G'Day and Happy Valentine's Day to all you lovely possums.
As threatened promised, I have a second Valentine for my beloved, Hamish, who will probably treat it with the disdain he did the first one. Still, needs must, here t'is:

Can you remember how the chase did thrill?
Your latest prey both willing and averse,
And though you conquered, you were conquered still
By flash of eye and tooth, and gleam of furs.
Have those old times now passed so far behind,
And comfort caused your memory to slip?
The chase now passed entirely from your mind
With cream, not blood, a better drop to sip?
Do conquests all lie barren in your mind
The night no longer pulling on your brain
Your warm bed by the fire a better find
Than evening's roving nd the courtship's pain?
         Or, when the full moon shines, and lights the night
          Does that old magic waken, and take flight?

Are you sure you don't write romance novels for a living?

Absolutely sure. I did have a bit of a side hustle as a student writing valentines for the less literate of my colleagues, but it never led to a literary career. I can assure you that no bodices were ripped in the witing of Hamish's ode.

Yes. Adelaide for tonight (20.18 here now) and off on the train to Brisbane tomorrow. Three nights on the train, then four nights in Brisbane, then home. Back in Manchester on Friday 23rd.
