Completed the set, sort of :(
Sat Jan 15, 2022 11:21 am
Finally it has arrived!
I ordered the final missing coin of my 2oz Queens Beasts Collection Christmas week and it arrived this morning (posted 6th Jan, 1st class recorded)
Now I know why it took so long, it appears the parcel had been lost by Royal Mail and when it finally came back onto the grid was damaged to the point that they then had to put it in one of their apologies bags.
Upon inspecting the item, the capsule has been crushed and then I'm guessing being exposed to temperatures ranging from -4 to 10°c over the past week or so has caused burning marks on the edge of the coin, funnily enough right where the capsule has failed.
Now the issue is that royal mails compensation limit is £50. I've contacted the seller on ebay so here's hoping for an easy resolution.

outch
I have one of those! SPARE
The seller is responsible for damages and or loss. So you are guaranteed your money back. let me have a look for my spare one. If it is as I hope in great shape we can sort it out. And my parcels never get destroyed. I am like Martin good luck getting though layers of packaging.

I will have a look for it this weekend and take photos.
I do not know what it might be in condition wise... it has been in a safe for a long time!

A Brillo pad should get rid of most marks.

Just you wait ...
As a matter of interest, will you be collecting the new set of Beasts coins, from the Hampton Court Bridge? I'm in two minds about them: I'm not immediately enamoured, but these things can grow on you.

I'm not sure yet, at £195 for each 2oz coin it is a hell of a cost. Will they be bringing out bullion versions?

I hope so! The proofs are very expensive, as were the proofs of the original QBs, but the Royal Mint is unlikely to miss an opportunity to capture even more customers.
