I love some of the North American mining channels on Youtube. The history and tradition of it all is epic. Looking forward very much to seeing more!

I bought them from Johnny Ray, and to be honest I am going to list them for sale in the appropriate section.

WOW
I know it is under magnification but WOW.
That is a great pan and I can not wait to break my panning button soon. I have the dirt thanks to @m&m prospecting Dirty Santa's Giveaway. So all I need is a couple of pans and a deep plastic container to play with.
I might be or get hooked. Who knows. there is probably a lot more I will need but hey. I got to start somewhere . Thank you for sharing bud.

Cheers brother, congrats on that win, as mentioned in the stream, you really only need 1 gold pan for that material, a mesh kitchen strainer to remove bigger rocks, gems or bigger gold, a "snuffer bottle" to suck the gold up with (can either buy or even make one which I can give you directions to do lol) and a catch basin such as a small tote bin or even a deep baking pan from your local discount store, lastly some jetdry to break the surface tension of the water as some gold is hydrophobic to an extent and gets caught on the surface tension and can float away on ya.
Dont worry about trying to do it perfectly your first time either, that is why gold panners use the catch basin so if any gold slips by, its still there in the basin and can be repanned at a later time.
As you will be getting a new pan, there are 2 IMPORTANT things you NEED to do to it when you get it, #1 is WASH it and remove all factory oils\residues from it, #2 grab a brillo pad or SOS pad or even some jagged gravels will work to lightly scuff the inside of the pan as the little scratches will work to help capture the gold easier. it is called "seasoning the pan" and is VERY important to do to new pans prior to use with gold bearing material.
when it comes time for you to do these things, video chat me on facebook and I am more than happy to guide you through the steps to do everything you need my good sir.

Re: Placer gold, lode gold, ore and specimens
I didn't consider " seasoning the pan " that is so obvious once said, but something I would have easily over looked.
I am going to grab a few things in the new year and would like others to watch me make a complete fool of myself doing it for the first time! LOL
So I am going to get my head down and have a special Monthly segment for Panning. Yep. I am going to do that. I can show how horrible I am !! LOL
I will of course do a lot of research first. But yes snuffer bottle, This Jet dry stuff... Is that not just washing up liquid? That is what they use in the UK.
We do not have that as a branded liquid ( I assume )

Re: Placer gold, lode gold, ore and specimens
As for Seasoning the pan, most overlook it with mew pans but I as well as many others strongly advocate for it, it really does assist the panning process.
That will for sure be an interesting segment to see and I look forward to being there to assist you and guide you if help is needed im no expert by any means but I know more than enough to teach the basics of panning, how to swirl the material properly and all around general panning knowledge dont look at it as making a fool of yourself brother, you are learning a new skill most people will never fathom or attempt and that is admirable my good sir, there is nothing to ridicule if you make a mistake, ALL gold panners start in the same boat as we pan out way up the creek of golden dreams brother

I will of course be relying on what you all say in chat. I plan to do it live for some fun.
I get what your after, Rinse Aid. It is used in dishwashers to help with cleaning out the dishwasher when it is on. Got it, and Have that so that is on less thing to buy.
I am looking at some pans and possibly some other types of dirt for a giggle. Why not!
What size do you suggest as I am only doing it for fun and not planning on doing this on any regular basis. 8 inch 10 inch 12 or larger.
I didnt really think about a size but looking at this can it is tiny which is good!
Right more tips and suggestions will help for sure.

for what you need, I would reccommend an 8inch pan, you dont require much more than that for that small amount of dirt and yes, Jetdry\Rinse aid is what helps dishes not have water spots after going through the dishwasher, gives glass that brilliantly clean, spotless look lol
