Wow! But where did you get the picture? It isn't on the Germania website yet.

Just watched it. It is indeed a cracker. I wonder when they will release the actual coins instead of teasing videos.

That's probably why they're choosing these fierce carnivores: they cost an arm and a leg each.tray wrote:Expensive

I know. I'm also collecting the leaves: only four in the series, but I think I'll probably have died of old age before they're out. I am hoping that the Beasts will be a fairly short series, rather than being like the Germania and going on and on. I'm trying to think of beasts that are more purely germanic (like Fafnir) than norse, but obviously Fenrir is norse and if they go down that route then there's quite a lot to choose from. I think Hugin and Munin would make a good choice, and would fit in with the dual coin technique that they have adopted - for artistic purposes, of course, not to 'encourage' you to buy the coins in pairs. We will see.tray wrote:They just take so long to actually release these things

I have had promotional stuff for this beast since last year. The Germania Mint keeps releasing information but is not communicating with the sales team. The Cat's Mother wrote:Wow! But where did you get the picture? It isn't on the Germania website yet.

Cheap at twice the price! You should look at early Silver Shield. Or CIT Numismatic Icons.Admin wrote:tray wrote:Hildegard by any chance

Silver Shield. They are produced by Golden State Mint, and the Vitruvian Man is the first in the Sacred Geometry series (18 rounds in all). That series is stunning, and their Lunar series - 3 in all - are amazing. The production values are first rate, and most of the rounds are designed by Heidi Wastweet who is a phenomenally talented medallist. Unfortunately, from my perspective, the bulk of their output is very US politics centred, and I am not over keen on some of the philosophy so I am a bit picky about which rounds I buy. If you wanted to look over their output you could do worse than to look on eBay - search under 'coins' category and 'Silver Shield' as the item. You can get a good look at the rounds without having to search very far after that, although the numbers might be a bit overwhelming. You can also look at the website of Micro Mintage Silver. He is a pleasure to deal with, but not cheap.
