Well just so all you doubters know. I’m heading out to Mongolia on business in the morning. Catching the direct ferry from GREENORE port Count Louth @ 05:00 hours. I’m getting the first sailing of the day as the lunch time one is always crowded and the later sailing is full of drunks who missed the lunchtime one.
Takes me across the Atlantic. Down through the Panama Canal. Quick stop for lunch and then out into the Pacific. I always love this part of the journey. Gets choppy at times but Great fun standing up on deck with the captain. I usually pours his drink for him or if he collapses in a drunken stupor, I take the helm. One time and it was dark, I turned too far left and we ended up in New Zealand. Oh, what a laugh we had. But some of the passengers weren’t pleased – really late for work.
Anyway, I got to go. I’ve to make the sandwiches and get my waders and get the bus to the port. I will keep you all updated.

OUT INTO THE ATLANTIC
Oh man was the Greenore to Korea ferry crowded. Holiday goers, workers, migrants, hawkers, missionaries, gamblers heading to the Yak racing meetings, Sulphur dealers haggling over prices. But I felt sorry for the rowers in the galleys for the sails were down to cover the tables in the bars and out on the deck some kid had his head stuck in a loaded cannon and the crew were trying to pull him out with ropes. While his mum danced a slow waltz with a man met by chance, in the new ballroom of ‘Heavenly Delights’.
Meanwhile at the end of the deck three old ladies, dressed in clowns’ customs, pushed and shoved to be first to ‘walk the plank’. While overhead seagulls swooped and cried at the flying fish and porpoises that danced through the swirling, curling waves.
All good fun but quieter than usual. I think I’ll eat my sandwiches before lunch. I’m Just happy they brought the Internet with them... Til later merv

I think you must have added some extra seasoning in the sandwiches. Make sure you have a clear head before you settle down to negotiations or you may inadvertently bid for used matches and not the pristine sulphur-tipped beauties you are going to get for Fortune8 -- henceforth to be known as 'Lucky Strike' in honour of your endeavours.

Hi TCM, Well I had jam sandwiches, and yes, I added some mint, cucumber and a little bit of pepperoni. Feel a bit sick now, but going down to the casino soon, that should be fun. Yes I’ll have a clear head for Fortune8’s premium matches – I think he’s looking about 4kilo. ‘Lucky Strike’ – you could be the marketing manager. I get you a badge.

Perhaps you could use a small amount of the sulphur you obtain, to encourage an "outsider" in one of the yak races to inject a little (previously unfettered) speed?
Take care with the amount you use, and the exact positioning of the aforesaid enticement. You want it to be very nervous of what's happening at the rear but not enough to bolt before the start of the race!
You will also have to choose the fuse length and ignition time to correspond to the exact distance of the race? You do not want your heavily backed yak exploding before the finishing line, otherwise your money will go the same way as the yak......
PS Put a fiver on, each way, for me and take the winning off the purchase price of the matches.
Cheers

OK @Fortune8, I have written down your instructions and will link it all back to your 'username' - just incase it all goes wrong. Then the Yak Racing Authority of Mongolia will know I'm just a pawn in a bigger game masterminded by yourself. .. Wish me luck. (p.s. couldnt get a Yak emoji)

Do I take it things did not end well for the yak?

The aforesaid Mongolian Yak
(With Fortune8's cash on his back)
Began the big race
But incendiary disgrace
Caused the stewards to give him the sack
Yak steaks, anyone?

@kimchi, hi, the Yak is fine but it stopped walking in the middle of gobi desert. I had to get a taxi back to Ulaanbaatar, now I'm waiting my turn on a light airplane to fly me home... Should be back for Christmas. TCM - you're a poet - and we all know it
