I might have some, I will need to check in a deep safe, I am sure I have at least one if not a tube of these in my possession.

My favorite thing about the trade units is the variety and the dates a lot of the ones I've seen have been from the mid 80's they are vintage and a lot of ppl pass them by and don't blink twice at trade units lol

I've never come across them before. Who issued them, and why?

Wow, do you know any more about their history? Perhaps who started them and why they stopped? Very cool indeed, I'd love to hear more if you have more info!

That is interesting. I had wondered if they were some sort of token issued by companies that could be exchanged for their goods. They never really took off though, did they? Fiat currency remains stubbornly present and post the apocalypse I think food and medicine would be more highly valued.
Do you know if they were made by a single mint, or did various mints produce their own? From a quick look online there were quite a lot of different designs (the Plucked Taxpayer struck a chord).
