I know someone who tried to buy some coins after hearing of Queen Elizabeth II death on the royal mint site.

He logged on at 8pm and was number 10,539 in the queue!

I take it there was a huge uptake in demand?

Yes I went on at 4pm no problems, later on it was a queue and it wasn't moving
