I have given up on pretty much all media.
The reports don't add up.

Yeah and there are BS videos on both sides too... seems the new thing is a standard of misinformation these days!
To quote Trump and one of the masters of; "fake news".
Sucks.

The first casualty in war is always the truth.

Obviously 99% of people want a swift end to the aggressions but it does appear we are likely to get a long drawn out gorilla type combat war in and around civilian areas.
Russia are not going to give up and neither are Ukraine. Unless both sides feel like they have more to lose then gain then there will be no peace settlement.
Russia doesn’t take defeat well, I expect them to take any setbacks badly and raise the stakes.
Anyway, let’s hope for a miracle and for Russia to withdraw.

Just watching the news as you do, and although gains have been made by Ukraine, Russia is advancing on other parts. So the news seems to be giving us " feel good moments " during this.
Just my 2 cents worth there.

Apparently they had a peace treaty drawn up in April to end it all. But then the UK and US stepped in, told them not to sign it and sent weapons and cash. Government military contractors want to make money, so it’s in their interest to have a long war, paid by our tax payers. And cutting off reliance on Russian gas pushes us faster in net carbon zero (“green” energy companies can make more money, with their corrupt government cronies) and helps knock down an economic rival to the US. Everything is done for a reason. And that reason is always to make the rich richer, and give the elite more power. As dirty little peasants, we are just cannon fodder that must shut up, challenge nothing, believe the propaganda from the media and government, pay up and do what they say. Otherwise you are a racist climate change denying anti-vaxxer Russian sympathiser.

It’s worth noting how some of the big arm manufacturers where starting to suffer financially with a loss on sales; this war has been the ideal opportunity to clear their shelf stock that was getting close to its use by date.
They also have managed to get rid of some older stock they no longer manufacture; it’s shocking how effective arms lobbyists such as BAE systems are in the UK.
The lobbyists are even stronger in the USA, the financial spend by Biden on arms for Ukraine is remarkable.
America have massively financed the Ukraine effort.

You are right. I just read n he news that the Biden administration has now sent $16billion worth of weapons and equipment to the Ukraine. The military industrial complex no doubt lobbied for a long conflict, and the Democrats will get a kick back for their election campaigns.
